OSTA Call to Action: Stand Up. Speak Out. Be There.

June 15–17 Interim Legislative Days

OSTA is calling on all manufactured and floating homeowners to take part in the upcoming Interim Legislative Days, June 15 through the 17th.

We’d also like to know how much interest there is in another in-service on Best Practices when meeting with your legislator or their staff. Call and share your thoughts on the phone number listed below.

This is a critical opportunity to ensure legislators in Salem hear directly from the people most affected by what is happening in our communities.

If you are facing challenges with park or marina owners, or their representatives, you are not alone. Across Oregon, homeowners are experiencing violations of their rights, lack of enforcement of existing laws, rising rents including reset rates, utility concerns, and ongoing uncertainty in the places we call home.

The laws created to protect manufactured homeowners only work when they are enforced. Right now, too many of those protections are being ignored. Legislators need to hear clearly that these issues are real, they are widespread, and they are impacting everyday people. Families and seniors alike.

Change only happens when real voices are heard. If not you, then who?

We understand that speaking up can feel uncomfortable, and for some, even risky.

Please know that your story can be shared in a way that respects your privacy. You can choose how much information to include, and whether your name is used.

Right now, too many violations go unreported, which makes it harder to show decision-makers what’s really happening. Your experience matters, and it deserves to be heard.

Your voice is essential.

Interim Legislative Days are your opportunity to:

  • Share your personal experiences directly with decision-makers
  • Help identify the most urgent and pressing concerns
  • Support legislators who are working to protect homeowner rights
  • Ensure the unique needs of manufactured and floating homeowners remain a priority

Real change requires participation. If we want stronger protections, better enforcement, and accountability from park and marina owners, we must show up and speak out.

Do not assume someone else will tell your story. When homeowners come together in numbers, it sends a powerful and undeniable message. Just being in Salem, attending the committee meetings demonstrates our commitment to stand with our legislators while they advocate for us.

OSTA encourages every homeowner who has experienced challenges, or wants to support those who have, to attend.

Be present. Be heard. Be part of the solution.

For more information or help with preparing to participate, please call (541) 508-0404 and leave a message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible. But sometimes it can take up to 24 hours.
