The Impact of Rising Rent Prices

We asked how the rising cost of rent has impacted respondents.

Most respondents are struggling to pay other bills and many have difficulty affording food. For many, rent costs have an impact on their ability to care for a child or senior in their care. Some respondents are working well past retirement age, some even working two jobs past 70 years of age, just to afford rent.

Reach Out to Lawmakers

It’s not too late! Lawmakers are listening right now. This survey was distributed at the request of your Representatives. They want to hear from you. Write to any one of the legislators on the House Committee on Housing Homelessness to tell them how rent increases affect you, as well as how interior inspections, aesthetic upgrades and rent resets may affect your ability to sell your home.

Read the Draft Interim House Bill LC1860

Representative Pam Marsh and our very own John VanLandingham with OSTA, as well as many other organizations across Oregon, worked together toward a new bill which will lower the rent increase cap among other protections for park and marina residents.

We Have Our Strength In Numbers
